Organize files in folders to keep track of everything.
Situation
You've got dozens or hundreds of files on your site. You want to keep track of them, so you don't use work.
Action
Put different types of things in different folders. For example, have an images folder, and a CSS folder. Often you'll make folders for different page categories.
